22 Bishopsgate, London

The new state of the art 278m tall Skyscraper is currently under construction in the Bishopsgate financial district of London and will be the home of a diverse business community with 1.275 million sq. ft of office and social space. FBT scope has included numerous projects working both inside and outside the buildings structure.

Ferrybridge Multifuel (FM2) Project

The new FM2 power station will have an installed capacity of around 70MW and will be able to produce enough energy to power around 170,000 homes once built. FBT scope includes the installation of over 410,000m of MV, LV, Instrument, Control and Earth Cable.

Crossrail

The largest construction project in Europe. Currently nearing completion, the 40km tunnelling works and £15.4bn Crossrail project will link Maidenhead and Heathrow with Shenfield and Abbey Wood through new tunnels under central London.

Designed to operate 24 trains an hour at peak times in both directions and carrying nearly 200 million passengers a year. FBT scope includes the installation of 1,200,000m of cable, installation of support brackets and containment within a tunnel environment.

Project Bellatrix, Francis Crick Avenue, Cambridge

The new £120M biomedical facility for the Schools of Clinical Medicine and Biological Sciences. Consisting of a post-graduate medical education centre, 900 delegate conference centre, 90-bed private hospital and four-star hotel. FBT scope included installation and termination of 20,000m of LV cable on routes with extremely restricted access.

WM Grants & Son Distillers, Girvan

The Glenfiddich distillery was founded in 1887 in Dufftown and since then has grown to be one of the most awarded and recognised brands of Single Malt Whisky in the world. Over the past 10 years FBT have built a reputation as the go to contractor for cable installation on the site by undertaking numerous modernisation projects whilst the distillery still retains its traditional production values.

Beckton & Crossness STW

The £190M Beckton STW (Europe’s largest STW) and the £220M Crossness STW (Europe’s second largest STW) upgrade works are part of the London Tideways Tunnels Programme designed to improve the treatment capacity of London’s five major STW. FBT have worked on both project for the past 5 years undertaking a number of upgrade and maintenance projects to ensure both plants run at optimum capacity.

Eli Lilly, Kinsale, Cork

The new £35M high tech pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kinsale, utilises pioneering technology that has the potential to transform how medicines are made in the future. This plant will become Eli Lilly’s Worldwide Centre of Excellence with FBT awarded the LV and instrument package based on our proven quality and experience. The project involves over 500km of cable installed predominantly at high level utilising MEWPs.

TeesRep Biomass Power Station Project

With a commissioning date of 2020 and situated on the river Tees at Teesport, Redcar, this £650M station will be one of the largest in the UK to burn sustainable wood pellets and will generate enough power (2.3 TWh electricity) for 600,000 homes. FBT are currently engaged on Phase 1 & 2 of the project with a scope that includes over 1,000,000m of cable installation.

Laggan-Tormore Development, Shetland

The £3.5bn Laggan-Tormore project involved the construction of a gas processing plant and export pipeline in the Shetlands, which went online in February 2016. Capable of processing 90,000 barrels of oil per day our scope included the installation of 1,250km of cable where we achieved the installation of over 70km on a weekly basis in weather conditions typical of a remote Scottish island.

Queens Ferry Crossing

Opened by the HM Queen Elizabeth II on 4 September 2017 and spanning the Firth of Forth river the £1.3bn three tower cable-stayed bridge is over 2.7km in length and carries the M90 motorway. Our scope included the installation of over 100,000m of cable during the construction phase of the project, which involved craning plant, equipment and materials over the Forth river to the central working platform and operatives being transported by ferry to the workface.
