Case Study
CLIENT: BALFOUR KILPATRICK LTD
PROJECT: CONOCO REFINERY AND IMMINGHAM CHP POWER STATION
The Brief
Cable installation for the re-configuration of the 33kv cable supply system on the Conoco Refinery involving the installation of 102,000 metres of cable. At Immingham CHP the contract was for the installation of over 475,000 metres Power, Control and Instrument cables.
The Solution
The project at Conoco involved installing the cables throughout the refinery while the plant was still 100% live and in full production. The installations were successfully completed under strict permit conditions, safety requirements and restricted time limits by a full time site inducted cable squad. At Immingham CHP the work was carried out to a tight time table and the planning and routing for the installation of the cables was critical. The F B Taylor cabling engineer and team contribution was paramount to ensure that the installation was completed within client deadlines and to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
